AboutKokusaidori Street

This live stream shows Kokusai Dori (International Street), Naha's bustling 1.6-kilometer main thoroughfare through downtown Okinawa's capital city. Nicknamed the "Miracle Mile" for its rapid reconstruction after World War II, this vibrant street is named after the former Ernie Pyle International Theater that once served U.S. servicemen. Lined with roughly 600 shops, restaurants, bars, hotels, and department stores, the street offers Okinawan specialties like awamori (rice spirit), habushu (snake-infused liquor), taco rice, and Blue Seal ice cream. Every Sunday from noon to 6 PM, the street becomes a pedestrian zone featuring street performers, traditional sanshin music, and eisa dance performances.
