Kagoshima Prefecture is a Japanese administrative region situated on the southernmost tip of Kyushu and extending into the Ryukyu Islands. It borders Kumamoto Prefecture to the north and Miyazaki Prefecture to the northeast, characterized by two large peninsulas created by Kagoshima Bay. The prefecture encompasses the Satsuma and Ōsumi peninsulas, along with island chains stretching southwest toward Okinawa, including the Amami Islands.
