Groenlo is a city located in the eastern Netherlands within the province of Gelderland. It sits on the German border in the Achterhoek region, which translates literally to "back corner. " Administratively, it forms part of the municipality of Oost Gelre, having merged with Lichtenvoorde on 1 January 2005.
