Toruń is a historic city located in north-central Poland on the banks of the Vistula River. It serves as one of the two capitals of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, sharing this administrative role with Bydgoszcz since 1999. Previously, it held capital status for the Toruń Voivodeship from 1975 to 1998 and the Pomeranian Voivodeship from 1921 to 1945.
