Valašské Klobouky is a town situated in the Zlín District within the Zlín Region of the Czech Republic. It lies in the valley of the Klobučka River, positioned on the border between the White Carpathians mountain range and the Vizovice Highlands. The settlement occupies the northern tip of the Bílé Karpaty Protected Landscape Area, with its highest point being the hill Stráně at 664 meters above sea level. Geographically, it is located approximately 25 kilometers southeast of Zlín.

The first written mention of Klobouky dates to 1341, when it was part of the Brumov estate and served as an economic center in the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries. It was promoted to a market town in 1356 and elevated to town status in the sixteenth century. The name changed to Valašské Klobouky in the seventeenth century following colonization by Vlachs. The historic town centre is well preserved and protected as an urban monument zone.

The town consists of four municipal parts, including Lipina, Mirošov, and Smolina, which were joined between 1964 and 1980. Key landmarks include the Old Town Hall, first documented in 1567, which now houses the Town Museum. A historic pillory from the sixteenth century stands in front of it. Other notable sites are the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross with its Renaissance tower and a wooden observation tower on Královec hill.

Cultural attractions focus on traditional local crafts and history. The Town Museum displays drapery, a traditional craft, in a historic house from 1781 known as the Red House. The area has produced notable figures such as writer Jan Matzal Troska and resistance fighter Josef Valčík. The town is twinned with Zelów in Poland, fostering international connections and cultural exchange between the communities.

Valašské Klobouky has a population of 4,864 as of 2025. It is connected by the railway line running from Vsetín to Bylnice, providing transport access for residents and visitors. The town retains its historical character through preserved architecture and museums. Visitors can explore the protected landscape area and observe the surrounding geography defined by the White Carpathians and Vizovice Highlands.
