It is situated about 32 miles (52 kilometers) east of Salt Lake City, and it has a population of approximately 8,504 residents as of the 2020 census. The city is nestled in the Rocky Mountains, at an average elevation of 7,000 feet (2,134 meters) above sea level.
Park City has a rich history dating back to the late 19th century, when it was a major mining town. The city's economy was initially driven by the mining industry, particularly silver and gold mining.
