Albany, Prince Edward Island, Canada

This live webcam overlooks the Confederation Bridge near Albany, Prince Edward Island, Canada. The stream captures the long-span, sweeping concrete structure linking Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick across the icy waters of the Northumberland Strait. Under normal conditions you can see steady vehicle traffic crossing, waves lapping below its curved route, and often the bridge shrouded in mist or fog early in the morning.
The Confederation Bridge is a box girder bridge carrying the Trans-Canada Highway across the Abegweit Passage of the Northumberland Strait, linking the province of Prince Edward Island with the mainland province of New Brunswick. Opened on May 31, 1997, the 12.9-kilometre (8.0 mi) bridge is Canada's longest bridge and the world's longest bridge over ice-covered water.
