Buzzards Bay is a census-designated place situated within the town of Bourne in Barnstable County, Massachusetts, United States. It holds the distinction of being the most populous of the five census-designated places located in Bourne. Geographically, it rests on the mainland side of the Cape Cod Canal, sharing this position with Bournedale and Sagamore Beach. The community is defined by its proximity to water, with Buttermilk Bay forming an arm of Buzzards Bay along its western edge.

The area was originally Wampanoag territory before European settlement began in 1621. The name likely derives from turkey vultures or ospreys rather than the bird commonly known as a buzzard. A significant historical figure associated with the location is President Grover Cleveland, who maintained a Summer White House at his home on Agawam Point. This residence served as a local landmark until it was destroyed by fire on December 10, 1973.

The landscape features excessively drained sand underlying most of the community, with the majority mapped as Carver soil series. The area includes notable institutions such as the Massachusetts Maritime Academy and the National Marine Life Center.
